what can i do about depression?

i dont know why but sometimes i become so depressed. i feel like nothing is worth doing or bothering with. i always feel i am too young to feel like this and just need to get over myself. i try to think positively but often fail. do many young people feel this way? i am always busy with school work and never seem to have time to relax with friends (ut they never seem as down as i feel). please help.

Depression is a common and serious medical condition, it affects everyone, any age...
it is a highly treatable disorder.
if u feel 5 of these symptoms for at least 2 weeks, u propably suffer from depression: sadness, not enjoying activities u used to enjoy, having changes in weight, changes in sleep habits, change in appetite, fatigue or loss of energy, diminished in concentration, thinking of death( not necessarily suicide ).

u need to know that it could happen to u without any logical reason, it's about a defect in neurotrasmiiter in ur brain, and this could be corrected with antidepressant,,,

hey, yes lots of young people tend to have periods of time in which they are depressed. they may not show it, hide it and just act normal. are there unresolved issues from your past that is bothering you? something that is making you feel this way? has somebody made you have low self esteem? if it continues for more than a month or two I would suggest a doctor and they could put you on anti depressants. I am actually on some and they have helped with my mood swings and anxiety etc.
