Call allergic reaction look like herpes?

Hi,

Anyone know if an allergic reaction (to latex, and related foods like mangos) can cause symptoms on the lips and genitalia that may resemble herpes outbreaks?  I've searched all over the web and I did see one picture of an allergic reaction on the lips that sort of look like what my lips looked like, but it was only one example.

The reason why I ask is that the doc on the STD forum says my case of simultaneous and recurrent oral and penile blister outbreaks are very atypical for herpes (as in he's never seen it), my limited sexual history is very unlikely to have exposed me to herpes in both locations, and I know I was exposed to high levels of latex powder the day before my 2nd outbreak (not too sure about if I had allergen exposure prior to my 1st outbreak).  I know I'm allergic to wasp stings and poison oak, if that helps.  Close family members have other allergies that cause skin reactions as well (although I don't think they present on the lips or genitals for them), so I have some family history of allergies.

A related question is, if in fact I am prone to allergic reactions to things like latex, do you always need to have direct contact with the skin area that has the breakout, or can the breakout also  happen on sensitive areas like the lips and genitals without direct contact?  I may have touched the breakout areas with latex powder on my hands but I'm not sure.

I am going to get a definitive blood test for herpes next time I see my doc, but I want to go in armed with as much information as possible in case it isn't herpes that's causing my symptoms.   Thanks for any input on my questions.

For the last 3 days, I've been dealing with my mouth full of blisters, my throat and even on my vagina, and they don't spread elsewhere down there, I only ever get this way when my immune system is really low, and I've been sick as a dog, and then I eat/drink something acidic, I've never had a cold sore, and the blisters stay within my mouth and you can't see any unless I open my mouth. My face has been swollen every morning I've woken up. I've been with the same partner for over a year and I know he has been faithful as well. It's been almost two years since I had my last reaction. And last time it only stayed for less than a week and disapeared without any medicine, is this an allergy or a weird case of herpes?

this site is also helpful..There is a home test you can do to see if you are allergic to latex etc...the test takes 48hrs...they say to cut a couple pieces of condom, turn one inside out and leave the other as is...tape to skin, arm, etc..do not remove or wet..see if skin has  reactions..outside of condom has a type of lubricant and etc,,, the inside of the condom for latex etc...

I'm not certain for sure, what you might have..Although, sexual contact or activity may be limited, it is always possible to catch an STD if you have been exposed to a carrier...I must say that in this time and day, it seems to be much easier to contract a STD or some sort,,,Our population has added many more infected people and new people sneak into our country these days with many different illnesses...I have seen young girls and VIRGINS first time around stumped with something that is incurable and it saddens me..Herpes is well spread throughout our country now; along with the other common bacterias etc...

My uncle could not eat Tomatoes do to the fact that it would make herpes like bumps around his mouth..Many fruit can irritate sensitive skin...

also, above are some links that you can check out with pictures..
I wish you well, I wish me well and everyone else well as well,,hee-hee..

Remember to always practice safe sex and always examine before doing anything...It's your life...

I too suffer from the same problem, but i didnt show signs of the reaction until two days AFTER i had SEXUAL INTERCOURSE.  This consisted of irritation on the vulva, a patch of fluid filled bumps underneath my left eyebrow (which went away the next morning), And swelling of my (FACE) lips(right where they meet together) I also experience chills which made goosebumps all over my body. And on my left bottom eyelid there were little pus spots that made a linear pattern along the eyelid. no bilsters, but i did have three bumps on my vaginal lips. Could this be herpes or an allergic reaction to latex. this confuses me b/c i've never had any bumps down there before also  i've never had an allergic reaction to any thing, that i know of
