black spot on milk glad worried

Hi I found a or very dark spot (not irregular shaped more circular) on my nipple around the pink area where on the duct. like there is something in the duct or coming out of the pore of the duct. What is this? I hope not breast cancer or melanoma? could it be a clogged duct? I am 48 years old and never had children.
Very worried.

Hello,
This black dot on the nipple should be explored by a gynecologist. The first possibility that is coming to my mind is mammary duct ectasia. It causes one or more of the ducts beneath your nipple to become inflamed and clogged with a thick, sticky substance that's green or black.

Other than this, any benign or malignant growths should be ruled out.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

thanks for your reply. It is on the montgomery glands on the surface and there is no discharge. I had a mammogram about 5 months ago and it was normal and there is no lump there either. I'm going on Monday to my family practice doctor to start as I don't have a gynecologist (never have been to one) my family practise has done all the PAP's and so forth. I hope it is just a clogged Montgomery gland.
