Does to lotrimin has a steroid in it?
I tried using lotrimin in the past and it seamed to irritate more I was wandering if it was beacuse of the Steroid.
It seams like I had this same Fungas before while I was living in Baton Rouge, then moved to Michigan and had a doctor prescribe some cream that started with and "L" but the word was much longer. It cured it within a couple of weeks. And went away until I moved to Texas and back in the humidity.
Could it be a yeast infection? Is that possible and does a steroid aggervate a yeast infection?
Thanks
Hi,
This could be an allergic reaction, maybe due to the sweat or a fungal infection. Both conditions are known to recur.
Fungi thrive in warm environments where it is moist. You can try applying Miconazole (Miconazole nitrate) Ketoconazole Clotrimazole - marketed as Lotrimin or Lotrimin AF (and Canesten in the UK) on the affected area, twice daily for a week.
If it is associated with itching then you can take oral anti-histamines and apply some eucalyptus oil on the area.
To know the exact diagnosis you can get a skin biopsy done.
