Cyst help please

Hi. I have been having cysts around my ears and in my ear lobes for about 9 years now. I usually can wait until they are ready to pop and then drain them by popping them. Some i can pop every day for months with something coming out everyday. I recently had one in my ear lobe that was very painful. I tried to pop it today and i felt it burst, but it bursted inside the skin. It is now very painful. Is it bad what i did? Is it something to worry about since it busted still inside the skin? What should i do? I am worried because i have never had one do this. If anyone could help i would greatly appreciate it.

You may need antibiotics to clear this particular infection.  After that, I can recommend Brevoxyl (benzoyl peroxide 4%) cream for acne.  It really has helped me with my cysts.

These bumps are a type of boil that develops in or around the ear. Poping them is not a good idea, could spread the infection into your system or worse your brain.  Warm compress is the best idea, but you say you've popped it already.  You could do an alcohol rinse, ask at your local pharmacy, they have kits. But yes, you need to see a ENT or primary doctor.  Since your having chroinc problems with this you could have a bacteria in your system that needs antibiotic treatment to get rid of it out of your system.  Do not pop cysts like these in the future, especially on the head and spine area, seek medical attention.  Good luck.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

This may be a chronic skin infection.

Is there any associated ear discharge or infections of the skin in other parts of the body?

Refrain from unnecessarily manipulating the area. Stop popping the lesions as this definitely will aggravate your condition. You may need some medications for this.

Have you had previous consultation with your physician before?

I suggest that you get a baseline consult with your dermatologist. An assessment by your ENT specialist may also help.
