Hi,
Aside from medication, physical therapy, exercise, heat therapy, orthotics and assistive devices, and rest all help. Many individuals with dermatomyositis may need a topical ointment, such as topical corticosteroids, for the skin disorder. Skin disease is exacerbated by sunlight and other sources of ultraviolet light. Sunscreens and sun protective measures are helpful in avoiding flares of the disease.
Each individual has its specific course for this condition. Regular follow-up with your doctor is important as well as to evaluate the rash from 2 months back. Proper management is then advised in accordance with your symptoms.
Take care and keep us posted.
