Embedded White Bump With Raised Black Dot In Foreskin

Hello,

I have noticed for awhile three to four black/brown raised dots with white "tails" on my foreskin. When I pulled one out it grew back within about 2 days. Some of the big ones that pierce through the foreskin have black ends (not as big as the black tops). I am still a virgin so I don't think it is a STD. It is leaving some scaring though. What do you guys think it is? If needed I can upload a picture of one of the dots that I pulled out. The biggest one is about 1mm.

Thanks

Hello,

From the description of your symptoms it sounds like blackheads. It is a yellowish or blackish bump or plug on the skin and is a type of acne vulgaris. It is caused by excess oils that have accumulated in the sebaceous gland's duct.

Cleanse the area thoroughly and apply a good mild exfoliating scrub on that. Apply a medicated cream or gel containing resorcinol, salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. This helps is soaking the oil and helps in peeling away the blackheads. If benzoyl peroxide leaves your skin dry, apply an oil-free moisturizer after 10 mins of applying benzoyl peroxide.

If the symptoms still persist then pls consult a dermatologist and get cysts ruled out.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.

Hi,

This could be olluscum contagiosum which is a common, benign, infectious viral disease affecting the skin and mucous membranes.  It appears as multiple, small, dome-shaped papules, often with a central depression or plug. A curd-like discharge can be squeezed from them. It may disappear without treatment, but freezing or cautery will usually get rid of it. This may be transmitted by ordinary peer contact or sexually.

This could also be  hair follicles and sebaceous (sweat) glands which are a normal part of the skin's anatomy and are commonly found on the penile shaft, particularly on the underside. They may be visible as small nodules or might only be felt as small lumps in the skin. They will have a hair arising from them that reveals their true nature. They are quite normal. Other differentials are pearly penile papules or fordyce spots.

Take care and regards.
