Extreme Vaginal Itching and Rash?

I have had a very itchy vaginal rash for over a year now.  I did start notice of an odor in the beginning, it has changed now, not as bad as before. But it keeps getting itchier and itchier, now it seems that a rash appears its not pimple like.. or like razor rash.. but like a bump under the skin that is VERY itchy. Its not herpes? because it isnt blisterish ? Its not a yeast infection because there is no itching or rash around the area yeast infections occur.  its mainly contained in the vulva area.

Anyone had a similar experience? Any help would be appreciated at this point.

I started having a redish kind of dry, itchy rash over my groin area, now it's over the other side and vulva area, I don't have any discharge, I'm sexually active , I'm in the menopause stage and allergies here and there that sometimes I need to take allergy meds because my eyes are icthy . If I start scratching I can't stop till I live the area very irritated and tender. Now my husband has it as well in the groin areas and we have been using over the counter creams, but it doesn't seem to be helping a lot.
I would appreciated any other suggestions.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

How old are you?

Do you have any previous genital or urinary tract infections?

Do you have any known allergies?

As this is relevant to your post, are you sexually active ?

Any associated vaginal discharge at one point ?

I suggest that you have this assessed by your gynecologist. Bacterial vaginosis may be a differential here. This is associated with a fishy smell. This is due to a disruption of organisms that normally reside in the area.Another differential is a yeast infection. This may also present with itchiness and even some degree of redness or scaling in the area.

Is there any notable scaling  or lesions?

The bump you have palpated, is this tender or painful?

I suggest that you have this immediately assessed by your physician.Vulvar itchiness requires further evaluation to rule out noninfectious disorders. It is best to have this assessed earlier on.
