swelling after cyst removal

2 weeks ago i had a dime-sized cyst removed from my forehead. the stitches were removed 1 week ago, and most of the inflammation went away quickly but i still have some swelling in the exact location of the cyst before it was removed. i took the antibiotics and motrin as directed but this last bit of swelling won't go away. how can i speed up my body's own natural healing process to avoid having to go back to the dermatologist? i do not have insurance so its just too expensive to keep going back, and the doc did not tell me i needed to return.

Same thing just happened to me 48-hours post op. I am putting ice on the swelling, taking anti-inflammatory (tumeric-based) meds, and hoping and praying the polar bear forehead is temporary.

Similar scenario here.  I wish someone had told me that removal of a pilar cyst on the top of my head could result in swelling moving down my forehead, to my upper and lower eyelids, and the bridge of my nose.  I checked in with the doctor yesterday - he assured me this is normal and should resolve in about a week (I am four days post-surgery).  He suggested Tylenol over ibuprofen, since ibuprofen can have a blood-thinning effect and actually make this particular issue worse.  What an undesired adventure.
