Grey spot on head of penis

Hi

I've recently discovered a greyish spot on the head of my penis.  I'm not sexually active and I've only had protected sex once months ago.

I'm a bit concerned about whether its something serious! The best way I can describe it is a white/greyish circler spot. If the forum permits it I will upload a picture to help with my description.

Many thanks

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
If the spot is itchy then it can be due to ringworm or nummular dermatitis. If it is non itchy then vitiligo and lichen sclerosis needs to be ruled out. Lichen sclerosus is a chronic disease which effects usually the genital areas. The exact cause is not known and can be too active immune system and hormone problems.

Some people have also proposed a genetic and hereditary basis of disease. Treatment consists of strong cortisone cream or ointment on the skin. Other treatment  options include Retinoids, vitamin A-like drugs, Tacrolimus ointment and Ultraviolet light treatment which are available under prescription.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
