Help with a severe rash! What is MRSA

Hi, I have a brother in law that is a real bone head. He has a rash that started under his chin that he said came from when he was mowing and a branch hit him under the chin. It spread to his elbows, arms, neck and chest. Its been a couple of weeks. He went to the doctor one time and they gave him some cream (keflex and bactropan) but it now has scabs all over the infected area. Its also is very red. Is there anyone that could look at the pictures and tell us what they think. We hear about MSRA and don't know what it looks like or what it is. We cant get him to go back to the doctor because he's a alcoholic and is afraid that they will tell him to stop drinking or put him in a place where he can't drink and smoke. this maybe its and allergic reaction from the tree syrup..dude u really should go before it gets worse it could lead to blood cloths and maybe even amputation..i thinks thats a lil worse then not drinkinf for a few days if anything
