I have a rash on my stomach waistline where belt buckle is

This rash flared up about 6 months ago, usually somewhat dormant but occasionally itches and constantly seems dry.. it is directly in proximity to my belt buckle. Doesn't change in size but flares up and the itching is uncontrollable. I did wear a belt buckle tonight and it flared to the point I scratched until it bled. I have put hydrocortisone on it.. usp,2.5%.... not helping. I obviously believe the belt buckle may be irritating the area but the initial flare up was soon after a random hookup. It doesn't travel, stays in the same area, no other side effects. It's very inflamed, dry and red. I have had reactions on neck with cheap metal necklaces

It could be the belt buckle, but in combination with the buckle- are your pants rubbing up against the rash?  That could explain why the rash was still itchy and bad even after you didn't wear it.  If you have had reactions to other metals previously- ditch the belt and see how it goes after about a week or so.  If it doesn't get better- get to a doctor to have them check it out and they can also give you a cream to help the rash.
