Itchy, red bumps on legs/ankles

About a week and a half ago, I noticed the bottom half of my calves were covered in small red spots(they were barely bumped up, if at all). Then, last Sunday I woke up with incredibly itchy bumps(so bad that it's actually woken me up at night) on both of my ankles, and at this time the other spots were gone. Now, I still have the itchy bumps(which don't seem to have gotten any better) and the small red spots on my legs have returned.

I've pretty much ruled out allergies, since I haven't been in contact with anything different than normal. Same with bug bites, especially since they don't appear to look like a bite at all. I'm completely puzzled...any help?

Day before yesterday I also broke out in bumps on my feet and now two days later they are spreading to upper thighs to belly and now I woke this morning there is a new on on my shoulder. I been reading all the post and it seems the doctors are not hitting this straight on. I have put alcohol  on and calamine lotion on and washed everything I have come I contact with. My mate is a big outdoor person I think it is something he has brought into the house and I think it is seasonal . Sandmite or chiggers or some other insect that has a  seasonal  outing to migrate or to breed in the grass and everywhere. Everyone has had success in different methods of relieving the itch my thought is to do trial and error. Keep washing everything and dry in dryer or get a indoor bug spray that is non toxic to humans and animals and spray on floors and carpets and take clothes right off from outing outside and put in washing machine or laundry hamper that has a disposable bag to throw away after you get a load to wash. The more you walk around with clothes you just walked in outside the more you are spreading into the house. I think cats and dogs can bring the mites into the home if the are let out from time to time during the day. So it is going to be a constant battle till the mites go into hibernation. Try looking thur your dryer lint for signs of critters if you find something take to your local outside person like a Earl May Store and ask who you can get ahold of to find out what your dealing with . Good luck all. When you look at your dryer lint look with tweezers and magnifying glass.

You've described my itchy rash exactly; I was always told that it was "sun poisoning" caused by the sudden exposure to lots of sun, and I've always had it in the summer, so it made sense.  But now, I have it on my lower calf only on the right leg!!  I'm going to try the zinc oxide suggestion, and let you know how it goes.  I'm very light skinned, and I look like I have leprosy or worse right now...can't wear shorts at all.

I'm 14 years old. Healthy as far as I know and I noticed these red bumps/possible bites on my lower right leg in a cluster as they've been getting worse. They are only slightly elevated and to me they look like bites with a darker red spot in the middle. When I first found them there were only a few but now there's about 16 clustered kind of near each other. And now I'm noticing a couple new spots on my lower left leg, about 5 now. There's a bunch of spots and I just noticed them yesterday. I put cortozone cream on them with no real help. They kind of itch but not so much that I think about it constantly. It might just be the fact that I'm concerned about them but the more I think about them the more I want to itch them. I haven't taken any new medicine, checked for fleas or bed bugs but doesn't seem likely. They don't look like chigger bites, plus the last time I was around grass was about a week ago and chiggers usually start around feet or ankles and then work their way upward but these are ONLY on my lower leg (not near ankle or knee just in the middle) and these spots just appeared the other day. It can't be from shaving because I noticed them before I was about to shave my legs in the shower yesterday I saw them. It had been about 4 days since I had shaved so I don't think that could've caused anything like I have. I've asked family what they think but they're aren't exactly sure. An allergic reaction? I'm not sure. I changed detergent about 2 weeks ago because I'm staying with my grandma but I've used her detergent in the past without any problems. I've researched online a bunch of related things to what I have but it seems they are all different from mine. I'm not sure what it could possibly be from. Anyone have any ideas? Please help. It would really put my mind at rest if I knew what they are from. I'm surprised how much they are multiplying and I'm not even scratching them!
