I've had a red mark on the head of my penis for 3 months now. Please help

Hi everyone,

First of all, thank you for any help you can provide me.

I have had a red mark on the head of my penis for three months now. There is absolutely no pain, itching, or smell with the mark. It is just there. At first it was very red and shiny, and then it became a bit scaley and perhaps dry.  At first I panicked but after seeing a dermatologist, but I was told not to worry as it doesn't look like any type of STD. I did get tested too so I could confirm it wasn't an STD. Of course when I went to a derm, it was the P.A a who wasn't too sure what it was. She said it was probably contact derm... She prescribed me some type of hydro cortisone mixture that I have been applying for over a month. I do notice that when I use it for 5 consecutive days that it begins to fade away. But if I skip a day or two or have any type of activity, it comes back looking like Rudolphs nose the next day.

I just want to know where to go from here. This is very annoying and embarrassing. I fear that if I continue to use this hydro cortisone cream, that I may just thin the skin too much. I'm not even sure if it's doing more harm then good. Please provide me with an answer, I have searched everywhere on the internet.
