I've had reaccuring Boils for 6 years.

Hi, I have had reoccurring boils since I was 12 years old and now I am 18. I have went to many doctors about this problem but they all say the exact same thing. Since I did not get the help I needed I now have scars upon scars. I was never really told what caused the boils only that being overweight causes things to get worse. I have been over weight my whole life but it doesn't explain why I have the boils and other people exactly like me do not. In more detail, I get reoccurring painful and multiple boils under my armpits, on my inner thighs, around my private area and under my breasts. I also have access amounts of blackheads in those same areas. Scarring consist of deep puncture holes located mostly on my inner thighs. Condition worsens when I ingest high amounts of sugar and when the skin in the listed areas above become moistened. Another point I would like to make is for the fact that I get severe boils under my breast. If weight is an issue here...then why do average weight women with large breast do not get boils as well? If they have a poor diet and a poor hygiene but do not get boils then that would not explain my condition. Other than the fact that what I have could be genetic. Please, help me find a much needed solution. Thank you so much.

I have this problem, its been this way for me for about 10 years im 26 now. I have 2 at the moment on my stomach. I am also overweight and just stopped my period. Doctors have told me it was a staph infection....but no matter what I do they come back. Pus was tested from one of the boils and it was not mrsa...I feel so hopeless. :(

Ok. Boils may not be hereditary but hidradenitis suppirativa is considered hereditary. What I'm seeing posted here is not just merely a boil. They are recurring and it seems to be hidradenitis suppirativa and if you are dealing with this disease then I urge you to try and find treatment ASAP because you will need it. And sometimes it takes a long time to find a doctor that has experience with this disease. Sometimes it can take years to diagnose because it is not widely known and there is not a lot of research being done. Sometimes it can get really bad by the time you find someone that knows what it is. You need a good wound care dr to help you along the way and thy can get a plastic surgeon to do the surgery. Just make sure they have experience so the surgery gets done correctly. Surgery can help and can help with the pain but is not a cure. There is currently no cure for HS.  The earlier you seek treatment the better the results. Read the book called The Hidden Plague.
