Long lasting red scrotum and itchy inner thigh

Doctor,

Im desperately needing your help for over a year Ive had this problem. It all started last year when my girlfriend and I had protected sex. After I didnt clean up properly and continued on with the night and the next day. The following night I noticed my scrotum was red.  Since then it has been constantly red, some days it will be a lighter or darker shade of red. I had tried everything under the sun anti-fungals, steroids, everything. I was prescribed silver sulferdizine (spelling?) and that had cleared my symptoms for a month then it came back. Then recently I was given elidel to see if that would work. It had cleared up the red pinpoint pimple looking marks on my inner thigh and relieved the reddness on my scrotum for a while, however 3 weeks ago it flared up again and the elidel doesnt seem to help. I currently have a red scrotum, a red line in my right groin fold that will not go away and a itchy inner thigh. This is killing me the dermatologist keeps dismissing it without giving me a definite answer. Im terrified this is a form of herpes. I just would like to live a normal sex life I have been abstaining from sex in fear my girlfriend could contract whatever it is. She hasnt however gotten any symptoms. I might add the scrotum and inner thigh feel like i have a sunburn or burning sensation. I feel like this problem is internal like I got bacteria from the sex and not cleaning up after didnt help. I have wanted to try doxocylian (spelling?) to try and cure the reddness, this is severely depressing. any help would be great.

So this doesnt sound like herpes? Water seems to make the reddness burn or sting more its so irritating.. I have eczema on my hands but i didnt know i could get it in my groin

Did this outbreak appear around the same time as trying any new lotions, shampoos, conditioners, soaps, laundry products, etc?

Sounds like it's dermatitis caused by sensitivity/allergy to something.
Could also be heat related, friction related, etc.
Try to give the area plenty of air. Wear a housecoat when at home...no underwear.
Avoid soap in the area, and try not to wash the area too much. Water can make skin irritations much worse.
It's possible that you are allergic or sensitive to the medications as well...this could be why they don't work or make things worse.
