Nail plate coming away from nail bed.

My nails are coming away from the nail bed.  I experience no pain or swelling around the nail, just a numbness in the fingertips and over time the nail plate separates from the nail bed.
I have had my nails tested for fungal infection but the results came back negative.  Blood tests all came back normal too.
My doctor reffered me to a dermatologist who prescribed treatment for psoriasis called Dermovate but this has had no effect in six months.  I have had this problem for a year and a half now and  no-one seems to be able to diagnose it.
Recently other health symptoms I've experienced are puffy eyes, a protruding eye, weight gain, lethargy and difficulty concentrating.  Could the problem be thyroid related?  And if so why hasn't this shown up in blood tests?

Hi, thanks for responding.

I am a 32 year old male. I have no psoriatic lesions, nor family history of psoriasis.

The blood tests were taken to find the cause of bowel pains that I have had for the past six months.  As far as I am aware there was nothing found in the results.  Stool samples also came back negative.

Do you feel that this may be hypothyroidism?  My right eye is protruding and I have been sufferung from dry scalp, yellowing skin around the eyes, and the sensation of a constant lump in my throat.

I am currently waiting for tests on my eye to establish the cause.

Hi,

This would have shown up in Thyroid tests if that would have been done. Check back if your lab results contains reports on TSH, T3, T4 etc? Hypothyroidism could have caused this lesions too.

The doctor was perhaps suspecting Psoriasis, and this happens in psoriasis too. Do you have any other lesion which is like a psoriatic lesion?

What is you age and sex?

Let us know the answers to these queries and we will try and focus your problem to possible diagnoses.
