Odd spot at base of ankle that will not leave!

Hi there,
Just a quick question for which I would really appreciate some thoughts - I've had a spot that looks like an irritated mosquito bite (large, red sticks out). Its on the front of my foot on the main bone coming down my leg. Whatever I do to it (cream, change of shoes, plaster e.t.c) it will not go away, or even calm down! Never really itches or gives any form of pain or discomfort, it's just there.

Not sure what else to say, I have a photo but not sure how to post on here. Pretty self explanatory though. Just an idea of what it is would be helpful!

Many thanks in advance,
