Painless bump that turned into a bruise

A week ago while i was walking in the store i noticed a hard lump about the size of a pea on the front of my left thigh, only the lump is more elongated than round like an actual pea.  There was nothing more than a painless lump under my skin.  You couldn't see it, only feel it under my skin.  Within a half hour of noticing it, it started turning into a small bruise.  Over the course of 2 days the bruise worsened, but still didn't become very large (about the size of a quarter).  Where i can feel the lump there is no bruise, it is only bruised around the lump, so there is a pea sized area in the middle of the bruise where my skin is clear and bruise free.  I have no memory at all of hitting it off anything and the bruise and lump are completely painless.  I never pushed hard on the lump causing it to bruise nor do i touch it a lot, only a few times a day lightly to see if its going away.  Its not going away at all.  Its been a week since i noticed it.  Any idea what this could be?  Aneurysms tend to run in my mothers side of the family although i'm unsure whether this is a hereditery thing.  Could this be a type of aneurysm?  The lump feels like it could be a swollen blood vessel.

I had the same thing happen.  I felt a small nickle sized bump on my lower arm one morning.  It wasn't really hard, felt almost like a cyst.  It came on over night and then I pushed on it, feeling it when I first noticed it, then left it alone.  By night time the bump was gone, but a bruise appeared.  It has been 3-4 days and the bruise is bigger and worse. It's the size of a silver dollar,  blue, yellowish looking and doesn't hurt. I didn't hit it or there was no trauma to it.  It's odd, I didn't know if I should of had it looked at or if I should be concerned.

I just had the same problem. I had a pea sized, red colored bump on my hand. It didn't itch. But was painful. I didn't recall hitting anything. It seemed to just appear out of nowhere. A couple hours later the bump (lump) was gone but a round bruise appeared. The area where the lump was located was not bruised. I'm dark skinned, so the area seemed to be my normal skin color. Today it's four days later and that area where the lump was located is still tender to the touch and the bruise still visible.

Hello,
From your symptoms the possibility of hematoma needs to be ruled out. A is caused when tiny blood vessels are damaged or broken. Since aneurysms is present in your family history, definitely it needs to be evaluated by a doctor as without examination it is very difficult to confirm a diagnosis.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
