Small pimples on penis

Hello all,
I'm not quite sure what is going on here and wanted to see if anyone had some good advice. I recently have been under a tremendous amount of stress related to some serious health issues with a family member. About one or two days after I got the bad news I started breaking out in my genital area. The best way to describe it is that they were very small painless pimples on the shaft of my penis. I later got a couple on the head as well. Of course as soon as I went on the Internet to see what it was I was scared that this was the sins of my youth coming back to haunt me and it was a HSV outbreak although I've never had any symptoms of HSV or any other STD. Well just to be sure I went and got tested for HSV. The Igg test was negative for both type 1 & 2. So I checked that off the list and started looking for another answer. I've had the bumps/pimples for almost three weeks now. Some are starting to fade a little but there is still some redness. I foolishly tried to express one that seemed ready to pop and the next day a couple more appeared next to that one. Anyway, I hope this is an accurate description of what is going on. I have a couple questions. First, how reliable are the negative igg test results? I've had no recent sexual contact that would cause me concern but of course my paranoid mind goes to the worst case scenarios. Also, does this sound like acne or is it fungal? Is there a good over the counter treatment option for me? Thanks for the help.

Well I went to a dermatologist and he said it was molluscum contagiosum. I was pretty shocked because I had been using an anti fungal cream for a couple days and the rash seemed to be responding slowly. I almost didn't go to the doctor today because of that. Anyway, it caused me a great deal of anxiety once I got home and looked it up. There are so many sources that say it is an STD in adults. I'm married and have no reason to worry about any sexual relationships outside of the marriage but it still caused me to panic a bit. Also, my wife is pregnant and we were concerned about any possible risks to the baby. I followed up ith a call to my dermatologist who reinforced the fact that while this can be transmitted sexually, it can be transmitted other ways. He mentioned towels, maybe at the gym. Anyway, the STD experts seem to think it is only an STD in adults while the dermatologists do not consider it one. Does anyone have any input in this? Also, what is the incubation period for this virus? And how long before I can safely have sex with my wife again?

I've tried some acne soap in the shower and stridex pads. I've been limited with the stridex because I didn't want to further irritate it. Maybe half have started to fade now. It's very difficult to tell from photos but they look a lot like senbasious (sp?) glands or fordyce spots. I guess without a doctor I'm just grasping at straws. It seems to be slowly going away just not as fast as I'd like.
