I am a 61 yo doctor who has suffered this complaint on and off since I was 18yo.
My post shower itches last 20-30 mins, occur for 2-4 months then go away for a few years.
After reading the above posts last year, I became aware that I could avoid my itches if I showered while my skin was warm for instance by showering shortly after rising in the morning and not after breakfast, or shortly after exercise.
My itches have nothing to do with chlorine content of water, water hardness, seasons, soap etc.
Hope this helps some of you sufferers
Hello,
Betnovate is a topical steroid. Long-term corticosteroid use has been associated with local side effects (skin atrophy, contact dermatitis, striae, telangiectasia, and depigmentation.). So it should be used only under medical supervision.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
