Reaction to 10% benzoyl peroxide

I had some folliculitis on both thighs, and I applied some benzoyl peroxide on Thursday to help clear it up.  On Friday, in the exact areas where I applied the benzoyl peroxide, I now have a rash that has developed.  Is it possible to have an allergic reaction to benzoyl peroxide?  How long would this type of rash take to go away?

This is pretty close to the same experience.  http://www.waiworld.com/waitalk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2878&start=90

So amazingly the itching from the rash has subsided.  It now just looks like a dotted, splotchy rash on both thighs where I had applied the 10% benzoyl peroxide and let it soak in.
