Recurring scab/abrasion/ blister on my penis

I have had a problem with skin abrasions/ scabs on my penis for about a year. They are always the result of sex, oral sex, or masturbation. They become red and appear as if the skin has been rubbed raw in these few areas. They tend to burn initially as any scrape or abrasion would. They then scab over several times as they start to shrink in size. However, they take entirely too long to heal, sometimes a month if I continue to have sex after one becomes irritated. They continue to be in the same region but often different areas. Even when I wait for it to heal they seem to come back once I engage in sexual activity. I have read posts with similar complaints and have seen it diagnosed as balanitis. I looked up the medication and the topical clotrimazole said not to apply to skin that is cut or scraped. Mine is clearly scraped or irritated. Is my problem different from other posters or should I use a different topical? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, I have been with the same girl and do not believe it to be an STD.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. So this is essentially just chafing that I need to allow to completely heal before continuing sexual activity? A corticosteroid cream should help this to heal? Thanks again for taking time out of your day to help.

Hello,
Your problem can be due to chafing or eczema skin and not necessarily fungal infection. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton undergarments. Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
