Red circular dots on arms and legs.

One day at work i noticed three round red spots on my right arm. I didn't think anything about it and they went away. The next day at work i noticed a little more of them. Then so on and so forth. For awhile i thought it was from being to hot all the time ( i work at a fast food place) but then they moved to my legs and and i was just being calm and relaxing at home. they go away and come back randomly. They are not contagious since no one around me has gotten them. they only itch once in awhile and they kinda have a little bump in the middle. my right thigh seems to be the worse. If you have any ideas what it could be it would be very helpful. Thanks. Kayli

Hello,
Fungal infections like tinea corporis are contagious and if your partner is also showing similar symptoms then you should get a KOH examination of the skin scrapings as advised earlier and get it evaluated. You may need topical and oral antifungals if fungal infection is confirmed.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Hello,
For these red itchy circular spots, tinea corporis should be ruled out which is a fungal infection. I suggest you to get a KOH examination of the skin scrapings done to confirm the diagnosis.
