Hi,

I visited dermatologist today and came to know that I have eczema and those slight color patches are of type Pityriasis alba and gave medicines for that.So I am kind of happy to know about this instead of vitiligo.

Thanks
Saritha

Hello,
Two possibilities are coming to my mind. First possibility is of dicoid lupus erythematosus and the second possibility is of vitiligo. Both these diseases are associated with autoimmune diseases like thyroid diseases and hence need to be ruled out. Vitiligo is a pigmentation disorder in which melanocytes (the cells that make pigment) in the skin are destroyed. As a result, white patches appear on the skin in different parts of the body. Diagnosis can be confirmed by external examination, blood tests to check skin cell count for melanocytes and biopsy of the skin patches.

My sincere advice is to consult a dermatologist and get both these possibilities evaluated.
Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
