For about 3 weeks now I've had a small patch of little raised red bumps on my left knee. They are surrounding a small scar. They don't itch at all, and at first I thought they were just stress hives (which I get often) so I applied cortisone cream daily. They didn't go away. They don't hurt or anything like that, and so far, haven't spread. I'm wondering if I should go see a dermatologist or just wait and see if they go away.
It can be due to contact dermatitis, allergic reaction or granuloma annulare. Granuloma annulare is a chronic disease consisting of a rash with reddish bumps arranged in a circle or ring. Usually it is asymptomatic but due to cosmetic disfigurement topical or oral steroids may be needed. Please discuss this with your dermatologist.
