Strange Lip Rash

Azu
In the past few weeks I have had 2-3 cases of an outbreak rash-like irritation that surfaces on my lips, I'm scarred it might be an STD but i haven't been intimate with anyone (including kissing) for almost one year. I have however pierced my lip, i personally made sure all the equipment was sterilized but still fear contraction is possible. My lip was pierced about 2-3 months ago and there were no complications at all in that time period. Since i've been with my last partner which was around 11 months ago, there have been no irregularities.

My lip symptoms include:

heavy swelling
burning
sever itching
rash like bumps (that have on one occasion spread through out the face)
redness

there is no:

pussing
bleeding
abrasions

other than on my face, my health is perfectly fine, there are no other symptoms or irregularities throughout any other region of my body

Also, when the "attacks" reoccur and my lip swells, itches and burns, it isn't as prominent as previous attack (it could be because i'm using an antibiotic ointment) but there does seem to be some progression of recovery when it reoccurs

What could this strange ailment be?

I believe I have the identical symptoms, sweling, burning, severe itching, rash like bumps (that on occasion spread to surrounding areas on the face.)

There is no pussing, no bleeding, no abrasions.

I have no body piercings.....

I have had no sexual encounters over the last seven months

I have had these symptoms for two to three weeks.

I really thought that my dog, while at the lake, had picked up some poison ivy or poison oak, jumped up on me and scraped my lip with his nails.

I've tried benedryl to dry it out,  while it feels better to be dried out a bit, I struggle to not lick my lips, because they are so dry.

As I look in the mirror,  I would say that I had a bad botox job on my lips,     Can anyone offer information for this condition?

Hi,
This is an allergic reaction to the metal in the ring which you have in your lip.Contact dermatitis is an inflammation of the skin caused by direct contact with an irritating or allergy-causing substance (irritant or allergen). Reactions may vary in the same individual over time. A history of any type of allergies increases the risk for this condition.
Common allergens associated with contact dermatitis include:
Poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac
Other plants
Nickel or other metals(This could be the allergen in your case).
Symptoms  are Itching (pruritus) of the skin in exposed areas, Skin redness or inflammation in the exposed area, Tenderness of the skin in the exposed area,
Localized swelling of the skin and warmth of the exposed area (may occur).
You will have to get the piercing removed in order for the symptoms to subside. You can take oral anti-histamines to relieve the itching. Also you can apply Calamine lotion on the affected area.Topical corticosteroid medications may reduce inflammation.
