Strange penis symptoms, please help.

I had what I believe is pruritis a couple months ago. Before and during that time the underside of the head of my penis on the right side went from a deeper purple color to a now greyish-skin color shade. I seem to have small red dots that appear from time to time and small scaly red patches that mostly appear next to the external urethral opening. I also have small clear spots that appear on the glans and disappear very quickly. I am wondering if these symptoms are serious and worthy of going to a doctor for?

I have already been tested negative for: HIV, Herpes(IGG), gonohrrea, chlamydia, and Hepatitis C.

Any thoughts?

I know you feel embarrassed about going to the doctor about this. But specialists are pretty familiar  and exposed with the anatomy and problems such as this. It will help if this be evaluated further to know the exact diagnosis as well as the proper management. This way you will not be worrying about what it could be and it will alleviate your anxiety and stress. Take care and do keep us posted.

So you don't think theres a chance this could be anything more serious? The symptoms arent really that bad it's just the scaly appearance that worries me. The discoloration has now faded finally on the underside of the glans. I plan to go see my doctor AGAIN tomorrow. This has to be the most embarresing thing to go to a doctor for. I've been stressed about this forever! :(

Thank you so much for your reply.

Hi,

It is good that you were negative for the tests. This could be an irritation, psoriasis or eczema. Psoriasis  appears as thickened red papules or plaques with a well-defined edge. In uncircumcised men, and at other sites, it has a scaly surface. On the other hand,  eczema appears as diffuse red plaques with a poorly defined edge and finely scaled surface. It frequently causes quite severe irritation. It can be caused by infection or local reaction to skin injury from chemicals or radiation. For proper diagnosis, have this evaluated further by your dermatologist. Direct clinical examination is important. Keep the area clean and dry.

Take care and keep us posted.
