Sun burn feeling in stomach and thigh

I am a 52 yo male. For the past month I have had a burning sensation around my lower stomach area and on my left thigh. It seems to feel like it is getting better in the mornings, but by late evening it is very sensitive. To grab any of the area hard its not painful, but to just drag cloths or hand across is why it hurts some. I also feel some jock itch on left side as well but I think that is cause thigh is inflamed. I was at Urologist and they though I should change soap. I have and not noticed any changes. If I could find out what it is I can then find treatment.
Thanks

Hi,

The most common sites for shingles to erupt are the face and back, however they follow a particular nerve path and are restricted to a dermatomal distribution.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

Its just about gone now, just a little spot on my left thigh. It took I think 6 weeks from time it came on till time it was gone. Is it possible to have shingles break out on the thigh?  It came on fast and took 6 weeks to go away. was about the size of silver dollar, was very red and looked like patch of poison Ivy. but made my whole thigh num and very sensitive.

Hello,
Considering the area that is involved, atypical shingles is one possibility which needs to be ruled out. It may present as self-limited radicular pain without rash. the other possibility is of nerve trauma to damage which can present as neuralgia. I suggest you to get it seen from a dermatologist/neurologist and get skin biopsy and NCV(nerve conduction velocity) test ruled out.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
