I just recently (2 days) have had a burning sensation when my shorts rubbed up against my upper thigh towards my hip, but not up where the joint is.  It is only on one leg and there is no visible bruising, rash, etc.  It just came out of nowhere and also hurts when I touch it.  It is less of a pain, and more of an annoyance, but I fear it will get worse.  Thanks for the comments, because I have been eating a lot more pretzels than I normally do so I am going to stop that and see if it helps.

Hi so I am diagnosed with genital herpes and this tenderness in one leg on the buttocks thigh groin or foot area is a common symptom sometimes the only symptom that the virus is not dormant. It causes nerve sensitivity that can span from the lower spine to the foot and most of the time something as simple as sitting on a cold toilet seat or my pants rubbing can send me through the roof. You do not have to have visible lesions with this sensitivity as I usually do not and it usually lasts a day or two up to a week. My anti vitrals help. Hope this helps some of you as a lot of people do not recognize they can be carrying the virus for awhile without symptoms or their partner can carry but have no symptoms and you can contract it through sleeping next to someone who is shedding the virus via skin cells.

I have this pain also back of my thighs and goes into my crotch.  Sorry have to be honest to see if anyone else has it like this.  Any one know what causes this?  What can you do to relieve it?

I have these exact symptoms! They only last a couple days, anything cold that touches it is excruciating, sitting down on the toilet, putting any type of lotion on, augh! After it goes away, I don't experience it again for months. Can be on the left side, such as just back of leg, or leg, back of buttocks and crotch area, or even just back of legs. I have no idea what it is, have you ever found out?
