I have an unknown rash in groin area!

I've had this for a few months, and have only become more interested in it recently. I went to the doctor a few weeks ago, and he did some blood tests and took a urine sample, and he wasn't concerned with the results, and saw nothing out of the ordinary. I forgot to mention the spot to him, so maybe he just wasn't looking for anything unusual, but he's experienced, and a great doctor, so I'm fairly certain that if anything stuck out to him, he would've seen it. I'm not too sure when it popped up, and I only noticed it maybe 3 months ago. It's almost perfectly circular, and I thought it was maybe a bruise at first, but it's not sensitive to the touch. It also doesn't seem to behave like ringworm, or anything similar, as it doesn't itch. It doesn't have red border, it's like it's just a single patch on my skin that's red like a rash, and then regular skin. I've noticed that it's turning more of a dark fleshy colour (like it's healing, perhaps?) almost like scar tissue, but I didn't cut, or burn myself there, or do anything that could've caused scarring. I noticed that the hair follicles that it surrounds are all slightly inflamed at the base. It's also only on the left side of my groin, not on the right. I also noticed that after shaving the area to get a better look at it, the hair in that area hasn't grown back in a few weeks, which is very odd, as my leg and groin hair grows very quickly. I'm not sure what other information I can give. If it's something related to my kidneys I wouldn't be surprised. I drink quite a lot of coca cola, but I try to balance it out with a few sips of water every few sips of pop. My urine hasn't been oddly coloured, and I haven't felt any different than I normally do. If anyone knows what's going on, I'd love to know.

Could it just be a patch of dry skin?  If you are anxious about it, I would go see a doctor and make sure to point out the spot, but it sounds like everything checks out as ok!
