This is going to sound weird, but I promise IT WORKS! Take a piece of a brown paper sack and burn it (in a clean ashtray or similar). Put the ashes (black residue) directly on the ringworm after it has cooled...the ringworm will disappear. Told ya it sounded weird. :)
It's been a home treatment for years and years...
I can relay my childhood experience, though I'm now several
decades older. In kindergarden, I was a real clean kid. A bath
everyday before school. Imagine mom's surprise when she saw me
w/ these things I was scratching open here/there suddenly. It
was a wk'end by then. Dr. gave me thorough ck & found it in my hair/neck/upper legs/stomache. It was ringworm. He called school
to get the nurse to ck class. Almost everyone had a spot to
several. 1/3 had on scalp. I played w/ every toy/game/music
maker. All went to Dr. for rx shampoo/ointments. It left some
sm. scars that I scratched in sleep. No one was allowed back till nurse ck'd. Room was totally cleaned. I must have scratched my head after getting on hands. It's common w/ kids but a pain to clear-up. It was a kid who's mom didn't think
much abt it. Mom caught it before we color coded all the towels
& linens. You can spread it elsewhere. I'd call pharmacy & ask
abt OTC? It's been yrs. for me. Do lots of laundry after. Go to
make sure w/ GP or clinic. It can be dangerous if gets near the
eye. Get some bandaides over spots. Gd-luck.
haha,I'm going through the same thing!!! Even with insurance,my daughter's doctor said just to use an over the counter anti-fungal creme like Lotriman or I used Lamisil AT and mine was gone in a week. However, after two months mine has returned!!!
The doctor said it was only contagious through direct contact, but I think this must be wrong.I have read online you can get it through towels, blankets, clothing or furniture shared by the person who has it. So...obviously I have to disinfect my whole house and wash all things as to not get it yet again.
