boils

I'm not sure how to explain this and I'm not sure how long this has been happening, but I have been experiencing these types of bumps in the groin area.  They are sometimes soft, sometimes hard, red, sometimes puss filled um I thought maybe they were boils like I get on my face or other body parts sometimes but I'm not sure if those are possible in the groin area.  I am a female and not sexually active.  They come and go randomly and I don't know the cause.  I did however go to the doctor for fluid in my legs and he asked me if I experienced something in the groin area but I said no because I wasn't sure what he meant because of all the unnecessary medical terms but that could have been it.  Does anybody know what these actually are and how I can get rid of them?

Actually I don't have any flu-like symptoms right now or anything but three times since the beginning of the year I have had really bad colds with fever, chills, body aches, occasional sore throat and the last time I got circular cellulitis in one of my legs.  But I always have fluid in my leg, foot, and now my hand (all on the left side).  They've done tests and things for my leg and don't really have an answer but I know it's not a kidney infection.  I don't think it's a skin infection because they just kind of come and go on their own at different times even when the rest of me is in good health.  I switched to using a female soap that's just for that area and that doesn't help.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi

This may be case of boils or folliculitis. You may need the discharge cultured to ascertain what organisms could have caused this. Also, this would help guide treatment as you may need oral antibiotics for this. If the bumps become enlarged and painful, you may need to have these drained just to hasten  their resolution.

Also, you have noted of fluid in your legs. Have you had any flulike symptoms or sore throat before? Some forms of bacterial pharyngitis may present with kidney and skin infections.
