cryotherapy

i have received cryotherapy and aldara cream for treatment of molluscum contagiosum a week ago to the date... the scabs have fallen off but there is still a lot of redness on the open skin and can still see the white bumps inside the open scab... does this mean i will have to undergo another cryotherapy again? how long does it usually take for cryotherapy to heal and is there anyway of speeding up the process?

Hello,
If the symptoms persist then the diagnosis of molluscum has to be revised.A dermatologist’s consultation will be the best in that case to decide whether they are molluscum or any other preocedure for their removal is required.

I hope that helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.

if the lumps persist could this be result of a wrong diagnosis where it is not molluscum contagiosum but something else? i have been putting neosporin on the sores with cotton swabs to help stop the itching

Hello,
After cryotherapy treatment, the lumps may become irritated, itchy or sore. Bathing in salt water may help relieve these symptoms. Do not scratch any irritated areas after treatment, as this may spread the infection.

In most cases, the lumps only require a single treatment, although they may take a couple of weeks to disappear. But if the lumps still persist then multiple treatments may be needed.

I hope that helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or in case you have additional queries. Kind regards.
