Potentially dead nailbed? Please assess I have attached a link.

Hi, I injured my toe while I was in the military. I crushed it and fractured it under around a 50kg deck. At the time the nail originally came off after a couple of weeks. The nail shown in the photo grew back very slowly. This has been the case for around 4 years now, I've tried trimming it down (very thick) and I also went to the doctor and took anti fungal medicine with no joy. I am lost with what steps I could do next. I still have some feeling in the nail and full functionality in the toe. It grows very slowly compared to the rest of my healthy nails.

It's pretty normal for a injured nail to 'behave' a bit differently, for a long while after the injury.  I'd recommend another trip to the doctor to let them know the anti-fungal medications didn't help and just see if they have any other recommendations.  If it's still growing, but just slowly- it's probably just still healing up- even years later it can be recovering.
