possible tinea versicolor on anal area

I have what I think is tinea versicolor on my anal/perineum area. Is there something I can put in that sensitive area to treat it? I have used monistat and other anti-fungal creams without success.

Hello,
Please get a physical examination done from a dermatologist to rule out pityriasis versicolor. Apart from that, get vitiligo ruled out. In this, white patches appear on the skin in different parts of the body. Diagnosis can be confirmed by external examination, blood tests to check skin cell count  for melanocytes and biopsy of the skin patches.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Hello,
It is very unlikely site for tinea versicolor to present on the anal area. If it is a fungal infection, then you should get a KOH examination of the skin scrapings done to confirm the diagnosis. If it is a fungal infection then you need topical and oral antifungals for the same. Most cases of fungal infection respond to over-the-counter products, which contain any of several basic ingredients: miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, ketaconazole and clotrimazole.

My sincere advice is to get it examined from a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
