red spot on penis glans

for the past two yrs i have had small red spots appear on my penis glans. always one at a time . I am uncurcumsized and hope i clean well. never know when they will appear. sometimes not for a few months sometimes one will clear up and then another in a few days. never icthy or painful. ususal a little clear liquid appears but if i dab with a tissue very little..the spots no larger than an ink pen opening or sharp pencil. redness arround then. Have never had more than one at  time. Have used Monostat because thought it could be a yeast infection. clears up in 3 days or so. I have also used Talc powder to dry it up and that has worked.. they have left slight scarring that does not show up when my penis is erect. soft you can see the scarring if u look for it.. any ideas?  Pete

Dear Dr. I develope small painful sores when ever I have sex with my wife yet for her some whitish yeast is visible on my pennis soon as I pull out, meaning it is from her vagina, what could be the problem and what should I use. She does never get the sours even after sex never.

Hi,
Inflammation of the glans is called balanitis.Lack of aeration and irritation because of smegma and discharge surrounding the glans penis causes inflammation and edema.
Smegma is a combination of exfoliated (shed) epithelial cells, transudated skin oils, and moisture, and can accumulate under the foreskin of males.

This if not cleaned properly can lead to infection with yeast, which causes the clear discharge.
Good hygiene in the area can prevent recurrence of the inection.Preventing accumulation is best done by rinsing the area with warm water.

Treatment is with anti-fungal medications like Monistat, as you have already used.
