i have the type that occurs on scrotum skin. those white sebum sacks as Dr. said. i experienced once that one of these cysts was infected and i had hard times. but still one goes and next comes. i have these cysts since 10 years or so. they are multiple. the fact is, they never disappear completely. always after several days, one or two grows and disappears and always there are several non fully developed cysts present.
Dr. said he may take them with a simple surgery op. but i'm wondering if i have to undergo this simple surgery process once a week or two? because i always have them developing.
thanks for your time.
Hi,
'A sebaceous cyst is a closed sac or cyst below the surface of the skin that has a lining that resembles the uppermost part a hair follicle and fills with a fatty white, semi-solid material called sebum. Sebum is produced by sebaceous glands of the epidermis.'
'In males a common place for them to develop is the scrotum and chest .'
'Blocked sebaceous glands, swollen hair follicles, excessive testosterone production, will cause such cysts.'
' Surgical excision of a sebaceous cyst is a simple procedure to completely remove the sac and its contents.
There are three general approaches used: traditional wide excision, minimal excision, and punch biopsy excision.'
