Itchy Flat Red Rash on Abdomen

For a few days now I have had a red, itchy, flat rash on the sides of my abdomen.  This isn't the first time it has happened, but it is only a recent development.  The rash lasts for one - two weeks at a time.  There are no bumps, or pus, or anything like that.  This is the fourth time it has happened to  me and I thought it would be a good idea to take a milk bath last night and i woke up and the rash has spread to the outsides and under my breasts.  It's incredibly inconvenient and very ugly.  I usually treat it with Cortizone 10 and a lot of lotion thinking it was a dry skin or a heat rash...but why does it keep coming back? The first time I had it was 7 months ago in June and then I had it again in October, December, and now. I grew up next to the coast and only recently 10 months ago moved to a  midwestern mountain state without any humidity.  Could this be a heat rash? Or could it be a rash that develops when I'm dehydrated? I'm thoroughly confused and I want to have this gone for good. Any help would be appreciated!

Actually, I went to my doctor yesterday and she advised that it was nothing more than really, really dry skin.  I started putting some serious lotion on it last night and it's already better.  I had no idea that dry skin would do that.  Thank you for your help!

Hi,

It is important to do a clinical examination before any comment can be made on the probable diagnosis.

Are you over weight? Are you taking any medications? What is your age?

It would be best to consult your doctor or dermatologist for your symptoms and let them have a look at the lesions.

Treatment would then be advised accordingly depending on the diagnosis.

This could be - sweat dermatitis, or a heat rash too.

Do keep us posted about the progress and about what your doctor advises.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.
