GD can be managed. Portion control and exerCise will help. Also try to manage the glycemic load. If your eating ice cream that has a high glycemic index, eat a smaller portion. You can also try having it earlier in the day so your body had time to process it. GD should not be taken easily. It can affect your baby in the long run. All the best dear :)
What about peanuy butter i and nuts ive been craving alot of that too??
I just got gestational diabetes this month. I'm getting bored of the same stuff too. I've been looking up snacks and desserts on Google but haven't really found a lot.
Go for fatty sweet treats rather than just sugary ones.
I'm using a soy chocolate spread that has coconut oil in it.
Also, singlet sachet coffee drinks - the foamy ones - keep my bsl level but are sweet enough to satisfy the craving.
I'd go mad without treats and probably break down and binge.
I do a 20min aerobic preg work out off youtube.
Keep your chin up. You're doing something good for yourself and your baby.
I'm diabetic too. All about porportions. Maybe skip your dinner carbs in exchange for a half cup of Ice cream and then walk after. Just don't over indulge. Always read labels.
I don't have gestational. ..I'm a 20 year diabetic. Have some ice cream :) but go for a walk or exercise after. The main thing is not eat too much. Protein helps alot so you stay fuller longer. And protein doesn't break down into sugars later.
