Blurred vision

Hello, Thanks for the responses for my last question...I'm back with another. This is my third week after doc said I was diabetic and changed eating patterns and began walking twice daily for 20 minutes. Also put on metforim at 1000 mg a day. I am on day 5 with blurred vision. My doc says it should clear up in a week and is caused from my body adjusting to lower blood levels. Any thoughts on this? This blurry vision is scaring me. It is horrible and I must use my strong reading glasses everywhere I go. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Not realy advice, just relaying a simillar experience.  About 2 months ago I finally tested my BG and it was through the roof.  Through diet and exercise (and prayer) my BG has gone to normal levels.  On about the third day of this quest though, I woke up, opened my laptop and could not read the text.  I thought I was going blind as it happened overnight.  My sight has not recovered as quickly as was mentioned above, but it has slowly improved to just about pre-scare levels.  (For those reading along, yes I plan to go to an Optometrist eventually - just thought my experience might help).

You doctor is correct, your body is adjusting to new levels. However, if it doesn't clear up within a week or two you need to see an Opthamologist or an Optometrist to get a comprehensive dilated eye exam. Type 2 diabetics are prone to diabetic retinopathy, a macular degeneration [for lack of better words] of the retina. A simple non-intrusive retina scan is available too. To be on the safe side, I get one annually.
