165 is higher than they want. Good that it is being found now and you can get to manage it well.
it is worth the effort. I had 2 diabetic pregnancies that I had to work very hard to manage (with insulin and diet), but totally worth it now I have two very healthy daughters.

For now, it would be great if you cut sugars / fruit juice etc from your diet, and focus on eating plenty of non-starchy veges and meats, while limiting carbs. A walk or other exercise after each meal will also help to keep sugars in check.
