gestational diabetes

Just found out I have gestational diabetes. Does anyone have a meal plan or snack ideas?  I don't know what I'm suppose to eat and my appointment with the dietician isn't for 2 weeks :(

I was told 6 small meals a day, eating every 2 to 3 hours. Absolutely no juice or soda or fast food.  And no fruit or milk until lunch.

Example:

Breakfast: one piece of toast w/ butter and one egg.

Snack: 5 or 6 crackers with one oz cheese.

Lunch: pb&j sandwich with glass of milk and a veggie.

Snack: a fruit or veggie.

Dinner: a small piece of chicken,  2/3 cup of pasta  and tons of veggies plus a glass of milk.

Snack: 1/2 pb&j sandwich and glass of milk.

Plus a ton of water throughout the day. And do not fast (time between bedtime snack and breakfast) be longer then 10 hours.  Hope this helps!

Everyone is different. I'm allowed 45 carbs per meal snack every 2hrs very few carbs. Test 1hr after meal. No fruit for breakfast or snack. No fruit juice period. That's my meal plan now yours could be different. I've found walking right after really helps bring down the levels. But carbs you have to watch even if it says sugar free.

My meal plan is breakfast I get 30 grams of carbs with no fruit and a snack 2 hours later containing 15 grams of carbs lunch and dinner I get 45 grams of carbs with a snack two hours after each meal. Snacks could be crackers with cheese or apples with peanut butter, just really watch your carb intake.
