Is my number is too high after breakfast?

Hi,  I went out to breakfast with my friend and ate a croissant and one egg.  An hour later my number is 198 and am worried that it is too high.  Is it too high and if so what should I do...take a walk around the block to lower this.  I usually eat one egg, 12 a banana and 1/2 piece of toast in the morning but the croissant looked so good.

According to my endocrinologist it is not necessary to moniter your sugar within 2 hours after eating because your numbers WILL be high. My sugars go as high as 250 2 hours after eating. As long as they are down to a normal level 2-3 hours after eating a meal you should be good. My A1C is 5.5 so I havent been worried when I see high numbers in that time frame. Hope this helps = ]

The walk around the block sounds like a wonderful idea. It may take a few hours after the walk to see the numbers drop if you are a type 2 diabetic. If you are a type 1, I would assume that you have been taught how to take extra insulin when numbers go high. If you are still high at lunch (again assuming that you are a type 2 diabetic), you can perhaps eat a lunch lower in carbs than your usual lunch to help your body lower the levels.
