Do also contact the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at www.jdrf.org, click on the Online Diabetes Support Team link, and send them your question. They have a staff member who handles all questions relating to lack of insurance and he has a wealth of information. This person will be in contact with you if you send them your question.
I would try to contact the Area on Aging (it's a govt agency and many places have one-just google Area on Agency Your city's name/state) They may be able to refer you for help. Also, try to Council for the Blind, Go to a medical school/university/teaching hospital. If you're wife is still working you may try your state's rehabilitation assistance program or work force commission. Talk to a Medical Social Worker at your local hospital, social workers usually have good contacts.
Who says you make too much?? Don't listen to anyone that is not in the 'decision making' seat--call your states Department of Aging and Disability --they probably can interview you over the phone. (Texas does).
Iam retired at 800.00 a mo., and my wife makes 10.00 a hr., everyone sars we make to much. There is alot of talk out there but really thats the size of it.T HANKS any way;
