Thatis the goal. I do have a liver that puts out insulin if I don't have a snack in the evening before bed. That won't change. I am just glad there was a way to get over the hump.

Glad you are doing better. insulin lowers BG.
of cores carbs raise BG to start with. Consume less carbs... need less insulin.
Proud to say that with the help of insulin, I had my A1c go down a whole point.. Foot surgery is a go ahead. It was frustrating journey, but now that I am here, I appreciate the positive direction I am going now. I hope to see it continue this way.
"I don't know what I am going to do." "Is there any hope of bringing it down. "
Your 140 mg/dl fasting result is high. But your 8% A1c is extremely high [equates to a daily level of 183 mg/dl]. The A1c is the true diabetes identifier. What it says is you're not doing a very good job.
So, yes, there is hope but you must be willing to make lifestyle changes to get your health back on the right track. For starters, you need to educate yourself on type 2 diabetes control and management. Understand what foods to eat and what foods to avoid, the basic lifestyle changes one must make to prevent diabetes from progressing. Start at this web site http://www.diabetes.org/ Read it carefully and thoroughly. Also, take the time to read other threads on this forum for useful tips. Post back here if questions arise.
Lastly, medication alone will NOT lower your blood sugars, they are there to help you. One must make the proper lifestyle changes. Will you? Good luck -
