I've noticed some off and on issues and told doctor, so she told me to take with largest meal of the day (dinner) and it has helped me a lot. I've been taking 500mg daily since last October. (not the ER version).

Hope that you feel better soon.

Some meds that can cause nausea and other  GI complaints are best taken with food.  Eating some food usually helps with these side effects.  You can ask your doctor to be certain if this could help your side effects.  Plus you could discuss changing meds.  BTW There is a combination pill Janumet that c  ombines Metformin and Januvia.  This may be helpful to you as well.
