Beta-glucan and a high blood glucose level

Hi,
I have got a question concerning blood glucose level. Recently I had infectious mononucleosis and to reduce the fever I was given a medicine called glucim tabs, which contains whole glucan particle. It had been taking it for 2 weeks, 4 times a day. Than on the most recent tests I had a glucose level of 103 mg/dL. Could this have been influenced by the medicine I mentioned?

Thank you for your answer in advance

Thank you for that information. I will keep the diet you mentioned and exercise. However I am not a diagnosed diabetic. Should I make some tests and if so what tests should I make?

hi,

the 103 is only slightly high for fasting level.

eat diet low in processed foods, breads, sugars. Eat vegetables, whole grains, meats, nuts, healthy fats.

Exercise 30 -60 minutes each day at least moderate level.

maintain ideal weight.

this is best way to minimise risk o diabetes / manage it if you have it.

It was after fasting and around a week after the fever stopped, but the spleen and the liver were still enlarged (ordinary symptoms of mono presumable). I will redo the tests in the coming week and let you know what the tendency is => does the glucose level went down or up. What should I do in the meantime? How should I change my diet?

When was the 103 mg/L measured?  after eating? after fasting?  sorry not enough info to comment.

Being sick can result in temporarily high blood sugar levels.
