Could this be a sign

Hello,
For the past few months I have been having some issues regarding my chin, under my tongue and even lips. Off and on throughout the day my chin will get a numbness sensation and will also be under my tongue and sometimes make my lips numb. My face will get flush and I become very hot. At times I thought that maybe I should eat something but this only seems to help the problem temporarily and then it comes back. Any suggestions? Also one of my eyelids is drooping, I am waiting for insurance to kick in. Any thoughts?

Parathesia on various areas of the body, including the face can be a sign of diabetic neuropathy.  Your drooping eyelid is called ptosis and this can come from various causes with diabetic neuropathy among them.  Mine came about because of my thyroid problems.  I have had both conditions.  Get your diabetes under control and you will be less likely to develop these conditions (and so will I).

You don't need insurance to see an emergency room doctor, not here in the U.S., that is.

The American Stroke Association wants you to learn the warning signs of stroke:

    * Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body
    * Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
    * Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
    * Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
    * Sudden, severe headache with no known cause

My only question is how long do you have to wait for insurance to kick in?  these symptoms sound pretty serious, some of them.
