Hello,
We cannot answer such a question, as it would need to depend on drs examination and state of the patient, and any details from the accompanying person / how the person was handled before being brought to the hospital.
Altered consciousness with only moderately high blood sugar may not necessarily be related to diabetes. The patient should probably be assessed for stroke, heart disease, UTI, infection, dehydration, etc.
If it is diabetes related, it could be rebound high following a low (if food / glucose or glucagon was administered before the patient was brought to the hospital - although one would expect the patient to return to normal consciousness soon after blood sugar is brought up to 'normal' levels.
Hope the patient ended up ok. Please update if you have more news.
The patient had diabetic foot, with TLC=18000 mm3...
debridment of the ulcers and gangrenous part was done and strong antibiotic led the condition improved, the patient discharged healthy
Thanks for the update. The patient's state was then due to infection.
It will be important for this patient to gain excellent control of blood sugar to prevent further incident.
